writer’s therapy with laura zigman

On Sunday, January 24th, 2024, at 5:00pm EST, Heretics Club is hosting a virtual interview and workshop with LAURA ZIGMAN, AUTHOR AND “THERAPIST” FOR WRITERS.

Some problems are just endemic to writers, and it’s hard to talk about them to anyone who isn’t one—much less, to solicit applicable advice or guidance. Heretics Club is one answer to the question of, “Who can I turn to?” And now we’re bringing you another: Laura Zigman. You may know her as the author of Animal Husbandry, but she’s also offers what she calls “therapy” for writers. That’s right—someone who can talk you through all the emotional and editorial issues writers face without needing to stop you and ask what the hell an editor does. Or even just why it’s so important that you make the wallpaper yellow.

Join us in a virtual interview with Laura Zigman as we chat about what writing therapy is, her own struggles and breakthroughs in publishing, and the industry in general. We all know that the hardest parts of writing aren’t even about putting pen to paper (or fingers to keyboard), but the emotions that both carry and cripple our passions.

When writing is no longer therapeutic, Zigman is here to help, and her insight is just another tool in the belt to help you hone your craft.
