So, you’ve written something—or you’re in the middle of writing something—and you’re wondering: how do people actually get published? What’s a literary agent? How do you find one? What do they do, exactly?
If the world of publishing feels like a locked room with no map, this event is for you. Join us for a welcoming, beginner-friendly conversation with Tia Ikemoto, a literary agent at Creative Artists Agency (CAA)—one of the most respected talent and literary agencies in the world.
Tia represents a wide range of authors, from commercial to literary, and helps writers shape their ideas, pitch their work to publishers, and build lasting careers. In this Q&A, she’ll walk us through the basics—what agents are, why you might want one, and what happens after you finish a draft. You’ll also get to ask your own questions about how people go from writing in their bedrooms to signing book deals.
No publishing experience required. If you have a story you care about and want to learn how to get it into the world, this is the place to start.
